1EP.001: Clerkship and Program Directors Conference: Research and Technology
Director(s): Imran Ali MD
Participants should be able to describe the role technology can play in development of curricula at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels in the field of neurology as well as potential avenues for education research as it pertains to medical technology, especially with web-based curricula.
2BS.007: How to Successfully Write a Career Development Grant
Director(s): Elan Louis MD, MS, FAAN
Participants should have a general familiarity with funding mechanisms for those in clinical training; be acquainted with some strategies for success, and be aware of general pitfalls to avoid when preparing an application for research funding.
2FC.005: Clinical Research Methods
Director(s): Karl Kieburtz MD, FAAN
Participants should be able to apply principles of clinical research to practice, investigation, and interpretation of the literature and better select avenues for more advanced training in clinical research methods.
3EC. 001: Education Colloquium: Lifelong Education
Director(s): D. Joanne Lynn MD
Participants should become familiar with questions about prioritization of neurology content to be emphasized in medical school and residency education for neurologists and non-neurologists; understand the impact and utilization of new technologies for the presentation of information; appreciate the current goals and efforts of the ACCME to link the assessment of formal CME programs more directly to demonstration of effective changes in physician practice and patient outcomes; and understand how to attain the current goals and requirements for maintenance of certification in neurology.
5BS.001: Clinical Grant Writing

Participants should know the basics of writing an NIH grant, the components of clinical trial grant application, and the NIH grant reviewer process.
5BS.005: Editor's Seminar: Tips for Writing and Reviewing for Neurology
Director(s): TBA
Participants should understand more completely what editors look for in submitted manuscripts and what they require from reviewers in order to increase the likelihood that participants will be both published and recruited as reviewers for neurology journals.
2007 Annual Meeting Seminars Available for Purchase
At the 2007 annual meeting, two grant writing seminars, one on clinical grant writing and another on writing career development proposals were offered. In addition, a full-day Clinical Research Methods program was available. These courses are available for purchase via Marathon Multimedia.
